Hi everyone!

My name is Sarah Jeffcoat, and I'm currently a junior at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Go Jackets!)  studying Business Management and concentrating in Finance and Operations.  I live on-campus in my sorority house where I literally share everything.  It's the closest I have ever come to living in true community, and it's beautiful.  It is so much fun to live in Atlanta with the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke, huge parks and a lot of shopping outlets within walking distance of my house.  While attending Georgia Tech I volunteer with a few organizations that do children's outreach in Atlanta.  GT Heroes is my favorite on-campus club that I'm involved in because we focus on enriching the lives of children associated with AIDS/HIV.  Through Grace Midtown Church, I volunteer weekly at a women's shelter playing with the children while the mothers attend Chapel.  It is absolutely my favorite part of the week, hands down.  My love for the outdoors drives me to run a few times a week and play tennis or watch baseball/football games when it's warmer.
I grew up in Leesburg, GA, which is about 3 hours south of Atlanta closer to the Florida/Alabama corner of the state.  With only one public high school for the entire county it is a small town.  I attended church with my parents and younger sister growing up, and I'm extremely grateful for parents who placed my Christian walk as a priority in their lives.  My sister, Lindsay, is my best friend.  We are very different people: she is blonde, I'm brunette, she has blue eyes, I have brown, she loves reading, I love math, she hates sweating, I love running.  But with all of those differences we still get along really well.  She is one year younger than me and attends another college about 20 minutes from Tech.
My feeble mind cannot imagine all that is in store for us this summer.  God has given us an amazing opportunity to be His hands and feet and to share the Gospel in ways I know I haven't encountered before.  It is exciting and terrifying to me, but I know God is bigger/stronger than any fear Satan tries to put in my head.  I've researched Kibera a lot already because I'm basically counting down the days until we leave.  I'm in constant prayer for our team and our leaders and the Africans that we will meet.
Grace and peace,
Sarah
